But first, in honor of Earth Day, the online art community deviantART is donating 10% of its prints sales to The Nature Conservancy. I suspect I may be bound by law to pimp this, but even if I had no association with either organization2, it’s damned nice of ‘em. And they have some really excellent art, so go find something for that empty space (or, y’know, the badly-spackled holes) on your wall!
Okay. On to the photos. Pitcher plants have been popping up overnight around here. They are strange and beautiful plants that inhabit the bogs, flatwoods, and wet prairies of the southeast US.
First, we have the little Parrot Pitcher Plant, which hunkers down in the grass and is hard to find unless you step right on it.
Now the much easier to spot Yellow Pitcher Plant, which does look bright yellow from a distance, but up close is more of a lime green with maroon accents.
