I worked in a big empty field all day Friday. About the only thing I saw moving was the butterflies. So:

Sometimes you find tiny splashes of crazily bright colors in the woods. For example, here’s a little green spider (a male green lynx spider, maybe?) on a meadow beauty flower.

This was supposed to be last weekend’s photo post, but I was off frolicking in the Keys. So these photos are from week before last, when we found an abundance of the kind of creatures that you’d normally see in Indiana Jones movies.

Here are some recent shots that turned out badly. Of course, the other thing they have in common is that these creatures are hard to find. I stumbled onto all of them accidentally, and I’m unlikely to find them again to take better pictures. So here they are, in all their grainy, blurry, badly-composed glory.
