From time to time, I’ve read book reviews where the reviewer complains about the writer making a character gay “just for the sake of having a gay character,” when it has little bearing on the plot. If it has nothing to do with the plot, why not just make the character straight?

Think of the Children!
All this fuss over the word “scrotum” in a children’s book, when there are thousands of children’s books containing not only mention of genitalia, but illustrations and even photographs! We must remove all books on botany, gardening, floral arranging, and other such adult subjects from school libraries immediately! Flowers are, after all, reproductive organs.
